A transformation is in the works... You may have heard the news that The Star Entertainment Group is planning on expanding in a $500 million project set to open in 2020.
“The Star Sydney announced its proposed development plans to enhance [their] integrated resort with a luxurious new arrival experience, exciting new places to play, stylish new bars and restaurants and fashionable new hotel choices”.
FJMT architects’ proposed design for the Ritz-Carlton hotel at The Star Sydney includes a new sky terrace, 15 additional food and beverage offerings and three pools, including two that will feature impressive harbour views.
“The new development will sit wholly within the existing footprint of The Star Sydney and bring further exciting new facilities to the burgeoning Pyrmont-Darling Harbour-Barangaroo precinct.”
“According to The Star Entertainment Group CEO, Matt Bekier, the development will deliver significant benefits to the local community, Sydney as a destination of choice for domestic and international visitors, and the Australian tourism sector more generally”.
It’s proposed that the new tower will generate a further 500 hospitality jobs in Sydney once the Ritz-Carlton is operational. Mr. Bekier notes,
“We are proud to include in the development a Pyrmont Neighbourhood Centre over five levels with a proposed social enterprise café, reading room, function space, collaboration hub, and rooftop terrace”.
Lead by FJMT architects, this expansion is great news for hospitality workers, given the number of additional roles to be on offer at a renowned international destination. With The Star's impeccable track record over world-class service and excellence, working within the multi-award-winning organisation would be an amazing experience on anyone's resume.
