It's no secret that Sydney summers can be toasty. This season is no exception, with heat waves reaching the mid to high thirties. Maybe you're looking for a break from the beach and Australia's unbelievably strong sun or maybe you're just looking for some of Sydney's best bars and cafes to beat the heat. Read on to discover Good Food's top choices to cool you down.
“Barrenjoey House. This old Barrenjoey bolthole received a luxe makeover from new owners Pip and Andrew Goldsmith (The Boathouse Group) in December. The bar has expanded to provide more space for a sunset spritz and day-trippers can expect easy-going dishes such as a yellowfin tuna spaghetti and scallops topped with salmon roe. Grab an outdoor table and ring your friends".
Bonnie's Wine & Food. Located in Bondi Beach, Good Food has named Bonnie's Wine & Food as one of Sydney's best spots to beat the heat. Open since September 2018, Bonnie's arrived at Bondi Beach Public Bar with a great vantage point of people watching on Bondi's Curlewis Street, chilled drinks, and reasonably priced dishes.
"The Collaroy. You can still grab a schooner and schnitzel to accompany the ocean view but now there's smoked trout in the morning and freshness such as watermelon sharpened with halloumi for lunch".
North Bondi Fish. Another Bondi Beach favourite lands on Good Food's list due to its optimal distance from the beach, it's prawn sangers with Yamba shellfish and beach mustard mayo along with the whole baby snapper and papaya salad. Sounds delicious to us.
